Central America has a strong draw for us, we keep returning and exploring.
We found an amazing hidden gem of an eco lodge located shoreside on a 200 acre section of the island of Bastimentos Island, a 20 min boat ride from the party scene of Bocas Town where we flew in from Panama City.
This was exactly what was needed, disconnect from electronics and connect with nature. Sitting on our private cabin porch brought an array of hummingbirds, butterflies, and other colorful insects went whirling and buzzing by to the lovely colorful flowers surrounding the porch. Early morning and evening we climbed the best view in the area from the lodges’ private viewing platform. This solidly built structure soared above the jungle treetops for stellar birding views!
Aside from the nature draw, the lodge had adventure and exploring options too! We enjoyed personally guided tours with Romon and Natalia; kayaking to bat caves, hiking the rainforest, paddle boarding, and snorkeling to our hearts content! Home cooked meals were enjoyed from the main lodge with it’s wrap around porch. A cold beverage or two were enjoyed with sounds of the rain hitting the layers of vegetation around us and evenings welcomed unexpected visitors like Panamanian Night Monkey and Four Eyed Opposum.
We look forward to returning again one day, it was truly a memorable time!
For your premiere all inclusive adventure experience, we highly recommend staying and exploring the area with Jim, Renee, and Jay at Tranquilo Bay Eco Adventure Lodge! https://www.tranquilobay.com.
